I began writing in the year 2000 at Adult Education classes in Ringwood in the New Forest and began submitting short stories to magazines and anthologies.

Over the years, I’ve been a member of several different writing groups and moved home twice. I now live in East Anglia, on the Essex/Suffolk border, where my husband and I share a small 18th century cottage with our large Dalmatian, Digby.

I’ve always enjoyed learning. Developing my craft has been a pleasure that has included numerous informal and residential courses, a BA course with the Open University and a Masters in creative writing with Manchester Metropolitan University from which I graduated in 2017.

My writing interests are now mainly novels and competition short-story writing. May’s Boys has followed me from a writing workshop in Dorset, to a BA module, to my MA dissertation and now to becoming a fully fledged book.

I take my writing seriously and am a member of the Society of Authors and the Society of Women Writers and Journalists as well as Brentwood Writers’ Circle.
